Line Cap
What is a Line Cap
A Line Cap is a numerical limit applied to a specific line in the budget. It restricts the line’s sub-total to a maximum value, regardless of ongoing budget updates. While the underlying calculations on the line continue to update in the background, the displayed and effective amount will not exceed the Line Cap value.
How to create a Line Cap
Step 1 - Right Click on a Line and select Add Line Cap to launch the Add Line Cap Modal:

Step 2 - Enter an amount to cap the Line to and press 'Add':

Your Line Cap is now active.
Line Cap Indication
Line Caps are visually represented with an icon to indicate which lines have an active cap applied. To display Line Cap icons in the budget, enable the Line Cap column via the Column Header Options Menu.
There are two possible icon states:
• Grey Icon – A Line Cap is applied to the line, but the limit has not yet been reached.

• Red Icon – The Line Cap limit has been reached, and the cap is now being enforced.

View Line Cap Status
When a Line Cap is applied, clicking on the line will display both the current calculated amount and the cap limit in the Line Cap Heads-Up Display (HUD) for quick reference.

The Line Cap block in the HUD displays both the current Line Cap amount applied to the line and the total amount currently on the line:
