Heads Up Display & Banner
The Heads Up Display (HUD) is a live read-out of everything applied to wherever you are in the budget — fringes, incentives, tags, locations and more. It updates as you move the selection, so you always know what's driving a number without opening a manager window.
Where it appears
The HUD can live in two places, chosen in Preferences → View Options → "Show Heads Up Display as":
- Banner Bar — a strip across the top of the grid, between the toolbar and the columns. This is the wide band you see above the Topsheet.
- Sidebar — the Heads Up panel inside the right-hand Sidebar (its icon is in the bottom group by default; use the gear — Customize Side Bar Elements — to move it).
Both show the same information. Goalpost budgets don't use the HUD.
What it shows
The cards change with the level you're on:
On the Topsheet and Account levels (about the selected major/account):

| Fringes | Total fringe amount, broken out by location. |
| Incentives | Total incentive amount, by location. |
| Locations | How many locations are in play and the total per location. |
| Tags | The tags in use (or "None"). |
| Personnel (PAX) | Head-counts: Total, Cast and Crew. |
On the Details level (about the selected line item):

| Incentives | The combined incentive % and the incentive names. |
| Tags / Universals | What's tagged or linked on the line. |
| Line Cap | The cap amount and, in brackets, the line's actual amount. |
| Episodes | The episodes the line is allocated to. |
Amounts follow your currency and negative-number preferences, and are blurred when Hide Amounts is on. The Sidebar's footer also shows a Selected Total for whatever cells you've highlighted in the grid.
The custom banner
Separately from the HUD, you can put your production's artwork in the banner area:
- Open Preferences → User Interface → Custom Banner.
- Drag and drop an image (jpg/png) into the drop zone (a wide, short image works best — the banner renders about 64 px tall).
- Turn Display Banner on.
The image appears at the right end of the banner strip on every level of that budget.
