ViewShift
ViewShift lets you flip the line-item (Details) grid between a lean, everyday set of columns and the full set — so data entry stays fast, and the deep-dive columns are one click away when you need them.
The two views
- Minimal View (the default) — the day-to-day columns: Sub Account, Title, Name, Details, Line Type, Location, Phase, Day Type, Start/End Date, Episodes, Amount, Unit, Multiplier (X), Rate, Currency, Subtotal, Tax & Fringe, Incentives, Total, and the rest of the core entry columns.
- Full View — everything in Minimal View plus: Tags, Universals, Qualified, Assoc. Ref., LineCap, Tracking 1, Tracking 2, Co. Unit, and the five user-defined columns U1–U5.
Using it
Click the ViewShift button on the right side of the Budget Toolbar. The button's label always tells you what you'll switch to — it reads "Full View" while you're in Minimal, and "Minimal View" while you're in Full — and its icon changes with it.
Things to know:
- ViewShift only applies on the Details level; the button is grayed out on the Topsheet and Account levels, and in Goalpost budgets.
- Your choice is saved per budget, so a budget reopens in the view you left it in.
- Each view remembers its own column widths — resizing a column in Full View doesn't disturb your Minimal View layout.
- Hiding a column with ViewShift never touches the data: values in Tags, LineCap, Tracking and the rest keep calculating; they're just not displayed.
Tips
- Use Full View when auditing qualified spend, line caps or associated references; drop back to Minimal for entry passes.
- If a specific column is all you need, you can also filter/arrange columns via the grid itself — ViewShift is the quick toggle between the two saved layouts.
