Budget Report

The Budget Report is the standard, full budget document. It includes the topsheet, account-by-account detail, summaries, and optional listings of your budget elements. Start here for anything you'll hand to a studio, financier or department head.

Choosing what's included

After you pick Budget Report as the type in step 1, the Included Sections panel appears. Tick a group's checkbox to include all of it, or expand the group to pick individual items. Everything starts unticked, and you need at least one section before you can continue.

TopSheet

The one-page summary of your major accounts. Its columns are Acct, Name, %, Page, Subtotal, T & F, Incentives and Total, and you can change them in Additional Options. With Show Total Summary on Topsheet on, the topsheet ends with Gross Total, Incentives and Net Total.

When you also include the matching account pages, each topsheet row links to its page in the PDF.

Accounts

The account detail pages. Expand the group to choose majors, or individual minors within a major. Each account prints its line items as they are in the budget. How much line detail you see is set in step 4: Show Detail Lines, notes, zero lines, and so on.

Second Sheet

Summary tables that sit between the topsheet and the account detail:

  • Include Project Metrics: adds four tables. Project Costs Per Day shows phase, day count, phase total and cost per day. Incentive Summary lists each incentive's location, type and total credit. Crew Breakdown shows category, affiliation, company unit and total. The last table is costs per day for each location.
  • Include Location Summary: spend for each location.
  • Include Tax & Fringe Summary: every tax and fringe with its total, ending with a Tax & Fringe Total.

Account Summary

A totals-only listing of accounts with no line items. Include Minors Accounts and Include Sub Accounts control how deep it goes. This is handy as a quick reference at the back of the report.

Summary options

  • Location Summary Options (available when Include Location Summary is ticked):
    • Show Phases breaks each location down by phase.
    • Show Types adds Labor, Purchases, Rentals, Allowances and Deposits columns.
  • Tax & Fringe Summary Options: Show Incentivized adds an Incentivized column. It's available when Include Tax & Fringe Summary is ticked.

Budget Element Report

Printed listings of the elements set up in your budget. You can choose any of these:

Currencies · Locations · Line Types · Phases · DayTypes · Company Units · Budget Units · Tax & Fringe · Percent Incentives · Flat Incentives · Universals · Tags · Set Tags · Tracking Columns · User Defined Columns (U1–U5) · Episodes (series budgets only)

An element list you tick is only printed if you've actually set up at least one element of that kind. Each table shows the element's settings (for example, a tax's rate, unit, floor and ceiling) and its total in the budget. Locations, phases, units, tags and tracking are also split into Labor, Purchases, Rentals, Allowances and Deposits.

Two toggles fine-tune these tables:

  • In Use Line Totals: adds an In Use column showing how many lines use each element.
  • Percent Incentives – Include Unrealized Value: adds an Unrealized column to the Percent Incentives table. This is the credit you'd get if nothing were held back or capped.

Page order

Each section starts on a new page, in this order:

  1. Cover Page (if used)
  2. TopSheet, with the Topsheet title page
  3. Second Sheet
  4. Accounts
  5. Account Summary
  6. Budget Elements
